Child Passenger Safety Seat Checkpoint

The HUPD offers free of charge to all University community members child passenger safety (CPS) seat checkpoints. At the checkpoint, an officer trained as a CPS technician will inspect your vehicle to ensure that your child is being transported safely and in compliance with state law. The officer will assist with the proper installation of child safety seats and also educate adults regarding the proper manner in which to safely transport their children. Information provided will teach the proper installation of a child safety seat, the hazards of improper installation, and the difficulties with safety belt systems and vehicle seating configurations. Interested community members can schedule a checkpoint appointment by contacting Officer Dominic Sardo at dominic_sardo@harvard.edu. Checkpoints take approximately 30 minutes per vehicle and are conducted at the Soldiers Field Park garage. The goal is to have every child leave safer than they arrived.
