Calling the HUPD
The HUPD has two main numbers:
(49) 5 - 1212 for urgent business
(49) 5 - 1215 for other business
Persons should call (49) 5 – 1212 when they need to request an immediate police response. Reasons for an immediate response include:
- To report any crime in progress
- For a fire alarm sounding
- To request an ambulance
- To report a strange odor in a building
- To report suspicious activity
Persons should call (49) 5 – 1215 when they need information or to request a non-urgent police response. Reasons include:
- To report a crime that has already occurred, for which you would like to
file a report
- If you are locked out of a room
- To leave a message for an officer
- To get information on bicycle and laptop registrations
